Sensing opportunity, consequent to the announcement of Ministry of Railways to permit private parties to move container trains on the same lines as CONCOR for both international and domestic traffic, DARC applied for the license and was one of the first 14 players to have been given the IPA (In Principle Approval) for movement of container trains on the same lines for category IV. The company has recently opened its TRANSRAIL division to cater to the service of customers. DARC expects that with the gap between demand and supply in goods traffic an optimal balance could be obtained in the best interest of the customers. The linkage is positive and company expects to achieve synergy by complementing Road and Rail- TRANSRAIL as it would give dual advantage in terms of cost and service. DARC also is in the process of reaching strategic alliances /MOU shortly with companies to have win- win situation.
